Best (iphone) camera app?
I'm thinking of switching to the iPhone as my main camera when I next travel. Any recommendations for camera apps?
I think the best ones should feature: fast start-up time, and high-resolution images (well, the best the iPhone can do
) stored in the Camera roll...so I can print them out if I wish to do so.

The built in one rocks. If the phone's locked/sleeping, double-tap home and tap the camera icon. Comes on quickly, use the "+" volume button as a shutter, supports real HDR, puts them both on the roll and Photo Stream (wirelessly sends them to iPhoto and other iOS devices).

Camera+: http://campl.us/ is one of the best camera apps I have on the iPhone.
For Panorama and 360 degree shots try Autostitch and 360. The results are incredible, virtually seamless stitching right on the phone.
Finally for HDR type photos check out Pro HDR. Whenever I want to use HDR photos I tend to gravitate more in using this app over editing on my desktop or using a regular camera, just for the ease of use and great results. The latest version now has filters too.
I love my iPhone.

Another vote for Camera+. Hispanatic and others are also good but if you get only one this is it. What ever you buy make sure it allows you to edit any picture in your photo library. Hispamatic and some others only allow edits on pictures taken in the app.

I really like Snapseed, but it's a post-shot editing app mostly.
This is an iPhone 4S photo. I did edit it in Nik Color Efex Pro, but only to tune the colors to be more realistic. Spent at most 5 minutes on it.

I realize that but except for HDR and stitching apps, there's really no need for different capture controls than the built-in app.
At the end of the day, these apps. have to provide something in exchange for not being able to capture as quickly as the built-in app. Otherwise, no reason for people to buy it.

Pro HDR an HD Camera are staples of mine. Nothing the camera does on its own even come close.
That said, without both I would be hard pressed to say I did not have a fantastic smartphone camera as is.
