emirates iPhone app
Noticed that the EK app for iPhone has to be paid for where as every other airline is free( well havnt noticed any other pay for ones yet)? anyone know why ? Not that I'm mean or anything as I did buy it , was just curious as to why I had to part with €0.99 , being a recession etc lol

I must admit it seems weird. I could not find any information about the app on the emirates website.
When one checks the app in itunes store, the image is of bad quality, so I wonder if that is really an app coming from emirates, or a individual having developped an app (and in that case I would definitely not download it because you would be giving personal details to someone not linked to the company)

If you read the description on the app it states it's authored by Ahmad Aldhahry of Ryadh KSA. There's no apparent connection to Emirates. Apparently the same fellow has authored a JetStar app and a number of other apps which seem to be in Arabic. They appear to simply be iPhone portals to various websites, but who knows what else might be going on. Caveat emptor.

Also, this app is EUR .99 in Euroland? At the US iTunes store it's listed for USD .99 -- that's like a 40 percent difference!
