I've decided to hold off for now on the purchase of a new hard drive. The computer comes with a 640 GB hd @5400 rpm. I'll see how well it plays out, and what comes out in the near future. (Hoping for the WD hybrid, 750 GB.)
Thanks for everyone's input!

Wirelessly posted (beckoa's PWP wonderous device: Mozilla/5.0 (BlackBerry; U; BlackBerry 9800; en-US) AppleWebKit/534.8+ (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/6.0.0.600 Mobile Safari/534.8+)
Yeah the TB drives are a bit big with three platters. I managed to squeeze one into my 3 year old HP but the cover won't shut so duct tape is holding it secure

Glad to hear that- not sure what the market looked like when I invested in mine, but its runnin well enough and TSA has given it a look at only a couple times I was a bit concerned bringing it thru AMS but no issues there.

Did that with my MacBook almost two years ago; replaced the DVD burner with a SSD, haven't looked back. Really saved my bacon when my mechanical drive failed while away from home, since my computer was still quite usable.
