SIM card for Switzerland, Germany, Austria
I will be spending about 11 nights in Basel, Switzerland; 5 nights in Germany, 2 nights in Salzburg. Does anybody have any recommendations for a voice/data provider that would cover that entire area? Or are they only country specific? This is my first time using an unlocked phone overseas.

I'm guessing you work for a large pharmaceutical company...
I was just in Basel and as it right at the boarder of France and Germany many people live in either country and commute in. They all get service in their home countries and double check their carrier prior to calling. So you could get a German sim and use it cheaply in Basel/Germany then use roaming in Austria (assuming not too many calls or any data).
Personally I got a Lebara Classic sim as US calling was cheap (0.09 CHF/min with a setup charge) and had the option for data though I wasn't planning on using it outside of switzerland that much. Had to have my passport and a swiss address when I bought it (just used the hotel address). It was sold out at a couple shops near the swiss station and was told it's the most popular sim there now. I didn't roam into Germany and turned it off on the way back to the airport so I didn't check coverage, however near the SSB I did see a bunch of French and German carrier.
