Fast microSD cards?

Looking to pick up a microSD card for an AT&T Mifi device. Are there major differences in speed on these microSD cards? Any preferred brands?

TIA

And does anybody know if these can be picked up thru a points-earning shopping portal?

Newegg and Best Buy operate at the Amex (4 points/$) and AAdvantage portals (1 mile/$).

By the way, planemechanic--microSD card speeds are rated by class. I believe the fastest current available class is a class 10 (write speed 10MB/sec) although class 16s have been announced. I don't know the timetable for class 16s to hit the market, however.

A class 4 MicroSD will work just fine -- in fact, for in the MiFi, I don't really think you need anything faster than a class 2. What are you planning to copy to/from the card?

If you are going to use the MiFi as a shared storage device, it won't matter what speed card you use as it will be very very slow. You would be much better off setting up a dropbox or similar account on the machines to share files.

Stick with Sandisk, Kingston or Transcend and you'll be fine.

(They are in order of price and perceived quality.)

Thanks everyone, great information.

^^

Not planning to store anything intense, just wanted to know the lay of the land and what I should consider.
