Hook Up Computer to TV via wireless

I have a new Sony Viao laptop computer that is wireless. I have a 37" LG LCD HD TV, and I want to be able to use my TV as a monitor and I also want to be able to view things like netflix on my TV. I know how to connect my computer to my TV via HDMI cable, but is there a way to connect it via wireless? If anybody has the answer, please let me know. I know to some people this is very simple, but to someone as ignorant as me it's difficult. Please help if you can.

I have a laptop that has an HMDI output that is connected to my HD flat screen's HMDI input.. The laptop has access to my network storage where I store DVDs and other type of movie files. To play the content on my HD TV, I remote Access to it from my other laptop or computer and run PowerDVD. Likewise, I can play iTunes streamed music or movies on my HD TV. If you cannot Remote Access in, you can use a wireless keyboard to control the laptop.

it is quite easy to plug into the later model dvd players, and then continue on to the tv.

I dropped my cable almost exactly a year ago. Best thing I ever did. Have my laptop hooked up to TV via VGA cable, audio from headphone jack on computer to back of TV which plays though my stereo system.

Use HULU as my DVR, by subscribing to my favorite shows, use Netflix, abc.com, NBC.com. Bravo.com, CBS.com to watch shows that I do not watch live, and for those that are not available through any of the above, purchase on ITunes. My cable bill was $120 a month, now $0. The only thing I miss is CNN, but when breaking news they stream to the IPad, so it's all good.

Which Vaio? Some models feature Intel's wireless HDMI, and all you'd need is a $100 receiver.
