Using UK Torch on AT&T?
Are the devices identical in the UK and US? Or are they set up for different bands, like how the iPhone won't use T-Mobile USA 3G because it's on a different band? I have a Vodafone Torch, unlocked of course, and since I spend so much time in the US would like to take out a contract on AT&T and use that SIM in my BB Torch. I'm just worried about 3G not working
Here is the bandwidth info from Vodafone and AT&T regarding the bandwidths
Vodafone UK has their Torch listed as working on the 850/900/1800/1900 bands
BlackBerry Torch - Buy the BlackBerry Torch on Vodafone (under Specifications)
AT&T has the following listed under specifications but I don't know what it means
UMTS: 2100/1900/850/800 MHz (Bands 1,2,5/6) GSM/GPRS/EDGE: 850/900/1800/1900MHz
Any help you guys could provide would be awesome. So far I've had a person on the BBForum 'think it won't work on 3G' and a couple people on CrackBerry say 'yeah, we think it should be fine on 3G'. Confused

The UK Torch will work fine for voice/SMS and data on AT&T.
According to RIM's UK site, the Torch supports:
* Tri-band 3G HSDPA networks: 2100MHz/1900MHz/850MHz
* UMTS networks: 2100/1900/850/800/900 MHz
* Quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE networks: 850/900/1800/1900MHz
This means that it will work for voice/sms/2G and 3G data anywhere in the world.
