What's your useless gadget?
Well...I got myself an iPad clone from ebay and its been like 2 months now and there will be times that I don't even pick it up in one week. Typing is difficult especially if you will type more than one hundred words. Also it is slow so you find yourself waiting a couple of seconds here and there when running or switching apps.
So what's yours?

I have a teeny, tiny Archos media player with a video camera built into it. I thought it seemed really cool when I bought it. I used it twice and then put it in the back of a drawer.

Portable DVD player. Bought it for an incredible amount of $ in about 2002. Used it on a couple of int'l flights and never used it again. Heavy, bulky and the battery needed (warranty) replacement like twice. It's gathering dust in my cabinet at home.
HP Photo Printer. Again a mid-2002 purchase. I was going to finally start printing out digital photos and make albums and such for family and friends or at least send them a recent photo. Discovered this crazy thing called oFoto. Never looked back at the thing.
A pair of those new "Free Radio" band walkie talkies. Got a little more use out of these on a multi-car road trip or two but they also seem to have fallen by the wayside.
No really a gadget per se but like Catcher in the Rye, whenever I see a power strip or multi outlet extension cord at Home Depot or Lowes, I need to buy one. When I lived in a small un-renovated apartment, I probably made Con Ed a hefty profit with all the juice I was sucking through those things (to say nothing of the fire hazard). Haven't given up the habit. ETA .... Now I have dozens of them in a huge Intercontinental Hotels cloth laundry bag in my closet.
ETA - Sony Memory Stick mp3 player. It looks like two AA batteries stacked on end. Held about 20-30 songs and worked with my old (1997-1998) Dell laptop. Still sitting around.

I bought this portable player that looks like a portable DVD player but you dock an older video iPod in it and can watch on a bigger screen, like 7 inches instead of 2.5". The battery life was about a minute. Used it on maybe 2 transcons and 1 longhaul trip to Europe. Never to see the light of day again. Come to think of it, I haven't really used that iPod either in a long time.
I also for some reason bought this ridiculously thick and heavy tablet PC off eBay. Runs Windows 95, I think. I booted it up once. No idea where it is.

I'm the proud owner of an adapter that will allow you to use a Type III PC Card in a Type II slot. So handy...about four notebook computers ago.
Oh, and I'm also still the proud owner of a whopping 1GB Type III PC Card hard drive.

The Mrs has an mp3 player which has almost never been used, since she got it (unfortunately) just after we moved all our audio onto a web interface.
Mine, I think, would have to be my toughbook. Granted it's more than ten years old, but when I got it I thought it would make a great kitchen computer. While it did, the small screen and poor interface made it less than functional.
Now if I could get Android to run on it.....
