Got CLEAR iSpot?
I stream on my iPad alot but at some hotels, especially Marriotts and Hyatts, the internet is spotty at best and even tethering from my iPhone doesn't work all that great. I'm thinking the CLEAR iSpot could solve this and they do month-to-month. Anyone have experience with CLEAR iSpot?

I have one. It works, but you need to be 100% sure you have coverage. Only issue is that connections sometimes drop randomly.
If you need connectivity to be reliable, you may want to consider a Sprint Overdrive instead - it does 3G and 4G, which means you'll have a signal almost everywhere you take it.

Ironically enough I just returned my Sprint Overdrive and picked up a Clear Spot 4G. (the iSpot that isn't MAC-restricted to Apple devices) It was $59.95/mo for the Overdrive, or for $60/mo I can connect both a home 4G modem and the 4G hotspot. The home modem is setup to be my emergency backup for when my cable Internet is out.
My results with the Overdrive were mixed. When it worked on 4G it was great, but the 3G performance was worse than tethering to my cell phone via USB or using a wifi tethering app. The Overdrive would also get hot and lock up after use, and the battery life was a bit lacking so I always felt like I was rushing to get it plugged in somewhere. There are also a bunch of Amazon reviews and posts in the Sprint users forum that complain that the micro USB connectors are either defective or there was a bad batch -- in a bunch of units the connector kept getting loose to the point it wouldn't stay connected to charge anymore.
Now I'm using the Clear Spot 4G in areas that have coverage with pretty good success, and I just use wmwifirouter to turn my Touch Pro 2 into a wifi hotspot in the areas that only have 3G coverage.'
The big gotcha with Clear is they are starting to see growth beyond what they anticipated, and their current cash situation has prevented them from ramping up capacity to meet that demand. High bandwidth users are getting throttled back to 0.5mbps downstream on congested towers to make things work in the short term, so depending on where you are the service may not always work great for streaming. Since Sprint is using Clear's 4G infrastructure, it's going to be the same story there.

I've got the overdrive, and while I have never had any issues connecting, I do have all the other issues. It's currently waiting for a replacement unit to come in which because so many people are having issues, takes up to five business days. They did not have any replacements in stock.
When it works, it works real well, but Sierra really should get rid of their engineering and assembly teams, quality wise it's a piece of junk. I expect to become a regular at the exchange counter.

I use the clear ispot, whereever they have connectivity. Now in NYC, soon in SanFran. But, it I use it in DC, Palm Beach, Portland, Seattle, etc. I find the speed is fine, and for 25$ a month, turn on turn off, it is a great little product/service. I still have a sprint card and mobile router that I pay 40$ a month for (legacy sero plan) for locations where the spot doesn't work though.

It all depends how you sign up. If you buy the device up-front and don't enter a 2 year contract, you'll pay a $35 activation fee but you can cancel anytime you want.
They have the terms posted on their website http://www.clear.com
Their coverage maps are also quite detailed, and they even show where the towers are located. Definitely check that out before purchasing.
The Clear Spot 4G worked great in MSP Concourse F this morning!

on the actual ispot, I do not believe there are any activation or suspend/cancellation fees. After a couple months, the account essentially will terminate, but can be started again with a phone call.
