T-Mobile G2 - thoughts?
Looks like you might (YMMV) be able to snag one for $99 with 2-year commitment.
ScottC what are you thoughts on the phone?

Mine is one a truck heading here. I'll probably still keep my Nexus One around, but I wanted a phone with a physical keyboard.
Only downside (IMHO) is the lack of TV out like on the Droid 2.

Really? No one else?
I stopped by the local T-Mobile store yesterday to see if they could somehow fulfill my order instead of waiting for UPS. Had I gone in on Saturday, they could've done it.
They're running a promo where if you purchase three accessories, you'll get them at 30% off. The prices on the cases (after discount) are very close to what you can find the same cases on eBay, so if you want to wrap your G2 immediately, it's the smart way to go.
I got to play around with the store's G2 phone. Everyone has been talking about how heavy it was, but I didn't think it was. Nonetheless, it's a good kind of heavy. I guess my only issue is that even the thinnest cases will still add bulk.

I'm tempted -- the hardware platform seems to be very close to what I'd want. (Don't like that the front buttons aren't hard-buttons, but I can probably live with that.)
I'm waiting (for now) to hear some feedback about Exchange integration (calendar sync, push email, contacts sync.)
I got (and returned) two Android phones so far: an N1 on the day they came out, and a Galaxy S (pretty nearly the day they came out) and ended up returning both.
(History: Blackberry 857, Blackberry 5810, Blackberry 6710, Blackberry 7290, Blackberry 8310. Yes, I'm used to my Exchange email and calendar being rock-solid.)
Questions for anybody who gets their hands on one and has Exchange:
- Does calendar sync work? Comments?
- Can you: accept/reject/tentative meeting requests from email app?
- Can you: accept/reject/tentative meeting requests from calendar app?
- Can you create a meeting request?
- Can you view availability?
- Can you change the meeting reminder tone? (Believe it or not, on the Galaxy S running 2.2, there's no way to do this.)
- Does email push? Comments?
- Do email subfolders push?
- Can you move messages into subfolders?
- Can you view and/or search server subfolders?
- Can you get a unified view of your Exchange and Google/GAFYD inbox?
- Can you access the GAL?
- Do contacts sync?
- Do contacts in subfolders sync? Can you choose subfolders to sync or not?
- Can you do these things in the stock apps, or do you have to use Touchdown or K9 to get the results you want?
Thanks.

Someone took their phone apart and discovered it's a 4gb chip. So far, they've rooted it, but if you reboot your phone, the root access disappears. Current rumors are the "missing" 2gb hides two partitions of the OS; and it will replicate itself to stock OS if one partition gets rooted.

Samsung has a history of making upgrade promises they can not keep. I like my Vibrant, but it is quirky - sometimes not turning on, and if I leave it off for a few days, it can take half an hour to sync everything. Not a bad looking phone, pretty fast, great screen, but Samsung clearly don't comprehend the software as well as HTC.
Oh, and my G2 also has loose hinges
When the screen is open, the bottom portion is about 3mm away from the keyboard.
