Hotmail problem - Windows Live
My Hotmail account somehow was updated to the Windows Live version. Anyone know how I can get the old/regular Hotmail version back. I hate the Windows Live version.
Thank you in advance.

I don't think anybody has the ability to switch back anymore, but if you do it's under the options menu (upper right part of the screen) and there will be an option for Classic MSN View My understanding was when they started the roll out instead of just the beta, they were not going to let anybody switch back, so that option is probably not there.
Even if you could, they are just going to move you to the Live Version as they get rid of the old interface.

It tells me to upgrade my browser. Well it is about time to get a new phone anyway.

Most of my friends who used it have left for greener pastures after hotmail's unreliability too many times cured them of it

Same here, and what makes it worse is that it's slow and sluggish. Wish I can change back!
BTW, make sure you update the stupid Windows live profile settings if you value your privacy. I had to uncheck a bunch of messenger social connections it made between my profile and a multitude of external social sites that had been connected by default. Makes me wonder if Micro$oft is following the same carefree ways of peddling my privacy as we have seen with Facebook in recent times?

Morons!
Please, please, Microsoft, stop messing with hotmail.
I get it that you wanted to dogfood it over to a Windows platform, but surely you can leave it alone and stop adding "improvements" and "features" that supplement what was a perfectly fine little email system with a lot of bloaty links and news and social site crap.

And here I thought it was only me, running an older pc, that was affected by this "NEW IMPROVED" version of Hotmail that made such a mess of my emails two days ago. Up until then, Hotmail and the MSN version from my local ISP had no problems and ran easily and smoothly. Now both are so messed up that I have to sign in at least four or five times (each time with the same correct sign-in and password) to get to the Hotmail home page, and each time I try to open an email I have to sign in again. Same with the local ISP's email site. I can't even open the emails from the inbox, but have found a (temporary I hope) workaround by deleting all the emails in the inbox then finally opening them from the deleted box. And I now get a response that I have to sign in again because I had signed in from another shared computer, which is impossible as I only have this one. Ran a virus scan (Norton) thinking that I had a worm or virus, and Spybot, but no problems showed up on both.
What a mess!!

Truly hateful.
After I specificall sign in to HotMail, I then need to click on "mail" from a list. Wasted step.
Incredibly slow, much more so than the old version.
The screen is cluttered with unnecessary graphics - just show my mail.
Pictures open as thumbmails instead of full-size. I can't find a way to change the setting.
Big step backwards.

1) go to mail.google.com
2) sign up for free account
3) forward all hotmail to gmail account
4) Profit!
Seriously though, I really can't stand hotma... er.. excuse me, Windows Live Mail. Horrible, horrible interface cluttered with crap I don't need. The gmail interface is just so much more nicely done, easy to use, and so much more storage space!
My old windows live account is just a spam trap now. I never use it.
