At the end of the day, if you have a relatively new 3Gs and want it unlocked from ATT, best not to upgrade to iOS 4.0 just yet.
Team Dev should have a fix shortly, just need to be patient ^

Cracked
one must admit, New OS is a great way to lock out everyone with a cracked phone.
Folks can live without updates, but an OS with new features can be compelling.
Cheers

Pwnage 4.01 tool and step by step tutorial
They just released it today: http://www.ievolution.ca/news/pwnage-tool-4-0-released/ but as usual there are some limitations - if your bootrom is new [5.09 or higher], it won't work.
This tool will help check bootrom, firmware, baseband, etc. FOrecast tool

It's 'legal' to jailbreak - that means you can jb and download non-apple apps for your iPhone. This might explain: http://blog.iphone-dev.org/post/8621...f-jail-is-free
As far as unlock [to use on non-AT&T network] for 4 iOS, Team Dev still working on it. Sign up for twitter, follow @iphone_dev for the latest info.
