Facebook and Flyertalk
I had a surprise this morning. I was looking around at my Facebook settings. Looking at Account > Application Settings > Recently Used, I noticed that Flyertalk.com was among them. I don't remember ever clicking 'Link to your Facebook account'. Are we all linked or did I do it inadvertently?

Facebook has been undertaking a massive attempt to expand into every corner of the internet, including elaborate links into hundreds of thousands of other sites including FT. There was a huge debate here a month ago about the big FB link at the top of our screens, and many of us instituted filters to block it.
One privacy option is to have different personas, different names and e-mail addresses for each social networking site, otherwise the bleedthrough will just increase as we ooze into the brave new future.

It's not something that interests me. I have a fairly well locked down FB account and wouldn't want to open it up to FT. Perhaps if I start a separate travel and photo page on FB at some point.....

I saw the same thing a few days ago. Facebook had yet another "bug" that allowed applications to be installed to your profile, without your knowledge or consent, if you visited that website while logged into FB. Story from PCWorld.
Supposedly it has been fixed. Don't think I buy that, or that it was a bug - probably a soon to be released feature.

Just checked, same thing here - and I did NOT click on the facebook bar at the top of the FT page (although I wish there was a way to remove it).

If you go to FB and remove it from your applications, it is no longer being added back - as far as I can tell. Who knows what new security hole will appear by tomorrow morning.
