Droid Incredible

anyone out there pre-order a droid incredible? i was waiting for the n1 to be released for big red but couldn't wait any longer. i took the plunge an ordered one. considering all the specs and hardware are better than the n1 i couldn't resist. the only difference i saw was not being to upgrade my phone as quickly to the newest and latest android software but rooting will solve that problem. even the multi touch is a lot smoother on the incredible. w00t.

so did anyone else pick up an incredible? i received mine on wednesday and it's a really nice phone. definitely worth the switch from t-mobile. i know a lot of you won't pick it up because it's not a world phone but i have enough unlocked gsm phones to use while i'm traveling internationally.

I've thought about ordering one. Not looking forward to learning how to use it. Maybe I should find a teenager to play with it for a couple of hours and then show me how to use it.

I ordered it Saturday 5/1. Online it said it would be shipped by 5/14. However, it was shipped yesterday so I should get it tomorrow.

Well, Verizon has a deal "New every 2." So every 2 years they give you a discount on buying a new phone. They also give you a discount for buying the new phone online. I was way overdue for my New every 2.

The price they quoted me was $299 - ($100 online discount + $100 New every 2 discount), so my price was $99. However, I went online to get a quote on a family member on my plan who wasn't due for their Ne2, and the price was $529. YMMV.

How is the exchange support on the htc incredible? Can you create and respond to calendar requests effectively on android? I had to give up the iphone for that reason and go back to the bb.

i can't really answer that question since i don't have my phone connected to my exchange account. i don't want to be doing work 24/7 so that's why it's not connected to my phone. i can live through the night without responding to work emails.

Oneeyejack - do you work for Google? I've read your past posts, and knowing this would help put them into context. Thanks.

By coincidence, I called my oldest sister today to wish her a happy 60th birthday. During the conversation, she excitedly told me that she was talking to me on her spanking new Droid Incredible. She is extremely happy with it, and told me that although she knows she may never use some of the more advanced business features (she's a teacher for special-needs kids), she found it very intuitive to use.

I'd really prefer to try this but verizon has a promo onnusing the palm pre as a wifi modem without extra charge. Can someone say what I'll be giving up or if there is a way to use the incredible as a wifi (? Cradlepoint
But this wont let me use with my iPad to avoid paying 3G in addition to home wifi

When the Droid incredible gets rooted, you'll be able to install the WiFi or USB tether apps. People are working hard on getting the Incredible rooted, so it is just a matter of time
