Thanks. Which stone product did you get?

To join in, I've been using these for several years:

They last forever. I put on right out of the shower because they do need to be wetted to apply.

Good for you that TSA doesn't know weight from volume.

The rules state 3.4 oz. Last I looked, there was around 28 grams in an ounce, so 3.4 oz is around 100 grams (technically it's slightly below, but near enough).

If they meant 3.4 fluid ounces, then they should have said so...

My regular is not available in a travel size so I just pickup
a travel size of the "Strong enough for a man, but made
for a woman" stuff. :D

I'm one for cutting down size and weight of stuff on an OCD level (accused of that today in ORD by a colleague, lol) but grabbing a small chunk of DO and somehow wiping it under my arms then putting it back in a mini ziplock and then washing the DO gunk off my messy hands seems to be, for me, a situation where the inconvenience outweighs the very minimal weight and volume savings. I do understand that lots of little things like this can add up but we have to draw a line somewhere and this is an individual thing.

Most drug stores in the US, in their travel section, will have Secret and Degree travel sized DO's. Sometimes they will also have Dove. Degree is not bad for guys. and while it is not your preferred brand it does the job fairly well. If you want to be really extreme then put on Mitchum 48 hours DO. This will give you some time to by a DO at your destination. Upon leaving throw it away. This way, while in transit you have NO DO in your ultra minimalist hand luggage.

PS; thank you for using DO! There are always a few on the plane who don't and we all suffer for it.

um, how do you apply it effectively?

One method is to take the slice out of the mini zippy bag and just hold on to it and rub it on. Another is to open the bag and hold the plastic and rub the stuff on.

I have used this method for so long that I know how many days I can get out of various sized slices. Frankly a slice lasts longer than one might think.

Interesting... I just found Mitchum in a travel size on Amazon.

The slicing is an interesting minimalist idea but I know my stuff
is hard to get off the hands... there is always some residue and
I am wondering how that would affect those TSA swabs.

Okay, so who can recommend a product that meets all of the below:

a) travel sized
b) antiperspirant + deodorant
c) Lasts a long time
d) Does not stain clothes
e) Preferably a nice scent that doesn't smell like petals, berries or invites mental images of chirpiness, effervescence or happiness.

So far no issues with the TSA.

How about 0.35 oz?
http://www.ebay.com/itm/35-oz-Natura...item51b61171a6

I'm well sized for economy and use oval lip balm tubes
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Lip-Balm-Tub...item519bc16741

You can leave the larger packaged product out in the sun to melt it or you can microwave it a bit to liquify. Pour into new containers. Or take a butter knife, shave some off, dump it in a small cup, melt it down, and pour into new containers. Do a few small containers at once and just bring back the empties for refill.

I use an Old Spice travel size I got from Target for $0.71. It's smaller than the Speed Stick ones that are sold at hotel stores and CVS and is an antiperspirant. Smells better too.

suggestions for Mini-Deoderant for Travel

BA have a little deodorant stick in their 1st class pack. I'm sure it's not uniquely made for them so it must be available somewhere.

Is that new? The kit I got from them in March didn't have any deodorant in it.

Don't antiperspirants stain clothes by definition? After I switched to crystal deodorants, my undershirts stayed white.

I'd recommend storing the deodorant slice/chunk in a latex/nitrile glove and tease it out to apply, should keep everything clean (your cosmetic bag and hands).

I decant a bit of gel deodorant into a little jar. About two weeks' worth fits into a jar that's a bit under an inch deep and about the size of a fifty cent piece. Takes up hardly any space in my 3-1-1 baggie. And it doesn't stain or leave a white residue...
