Hi Jason-
I just noticed your thread and read your report.
Well written, concise, and well-thought out.
I returned a Rimowa Ultralight case for the reason you mentioned: Although very light, it only had one rubber handle.
The Rimowa store replaced it with another case, which has both top and side handles, and a double pull-handle for the carry on Notebook case.
Good luck to you and your travels !

Just another update - flew Ryanair this past weekend with my bag. Again, no issues using the Ryanair sizer nor the weight restriction. With all the carry-on bags I had before, this one by far is my favorite. It's light enough where the bag weight doesn't really affect my packing and it fits in every sizer I've tried so far.

I've been looking for a light bag for a long time, for the exact same reasons you mentioned. A couple of questions, if you don't mind:
1. Does that 55cm include the wheels and handles?
2. There is a 50cm version and a 55cm version. Which one do you have? With other bags I usually bought 20 inch (50cm) ones to make sure that with wheels and handle it fits in the 22 inch (55cm) limit. I usually fly UA and LH, so trying to make sure that it fits both sizers.
Thanks.

Love the sizer photos - thanks!
I actually bought a similar styled Samsonite bag (branded Samsonite 72hrs/seems the same as OPs) about 12mths ago but its a 4 wheeler but by the photos, it seems it should still be fine for next months US flights. Ive had no issues using it in Australia or NZ.

2. I looked at the model number from the price tag and that info is
SHORT-LITE
53358 2919
68U (2) 18 002
34351226
UPR55/20LENGTH36
PLATIN GREY
41 00 L - 1 60 LG
so apparently it's 55x36x23 though when I was looking at it (uK sites) last year it was the 55x35x22. The nice thing though is you can push the front of the flap inside to cut off a few cm if the sizer really is at 20cm (what I mean is the flap where you zip on front can be pushed inside which puts some stress on the bag, but it still functions and gets down to under 20cm)
