Electrical Plug Outlets

Hello,

Flying United and Luftansa next month to Europe. Last year I flew AA and the electrical outlet in biz class seat had a "Cigarette lighter" type of outlet not a regular plug.

Does the Biz class on United and Luftansa have these same type of plugs?

Where can I find an adapter to convert a regular plug?

Thanks!

This thing works pretty well. At 75w it's enough for your laptop if that's necessary; just don't try to power up a large laptop or like some people have done, a TV in a vehicle. I've had zero issues with this inverter.

If just for a mobile device this should be fine:

The type of plug depends on the type of plane. If you know which plane it is, or if you post the date and flight number, you would probably get better information.

Seatguru.com is also pretty good at showing what's available on the type of aircraft you are flying on

You should have a regular plug in business on both LH and UA. But you should check on seatguru as advised by cordelli.

There are several types of cigarette lighter type power adapters in use.

I have the older version of this:

Got it from my employer. Has a cigarette lighter tip, which comes off to reveal an empower tip.

These also appear to have both tips:

Old business class config on UA has empower still. Not sure how many are left. Some domestic F configs have empower, also, IIRC.

12V->120V->~16-21V?

I'd sooner buy a car adapter for the laptop.
