747-8's inaugural PEK-JFK flight landing - triple 7's have been flying this route in the past year when the older 747's were discontinued ... Nothing like riding atop with 4 engines roaring as it stream down the runway for the takeoff & unmistakable.

Another one came in this afternoon & will be taking off shortly (CA 981 & CA 982)

I've just returned from China and they're very proud about the 748i launch. There were quite a few signs (on buses, for ie) announcing the new plane.

Here's a photo of an A388's engine (and a human for comparison's sake) I took at Hong Kong. I'm always amazed by the size of modern aircraft.

Sorry for the 'hijack' but am at PAE and was able to witness the unveiling of LH's 'YR', their latest 747-8i. A short video of the push back in addition to photos.

Technically, Air Force One is any plane that the president is on...Even it were a Cessna 172. When the VC25 is flying around without him, its just a regular bird. There is no plane 'named' Air Force One...it is a call sign only.

Well if we're going to get really technical, Air Force One is any Air Force plane the President is on. If the Cessna 172 was Navy, it would be Navy One.

Hence Marine One is the helicopter because it is the Marines who operate it, right?

AirJamaica

http://www.planespotters.net/Aviatio...show?id=469683

Looks like that might actually be the exact plane based on the registration:

9Y-JMC Air Jamaica Boeing 737-8Q8(WL)

or

9Y-JME Air Jamaica Boeing 737-86J(WL)

SCOOT's first 787 after a High Speed Taxi / Brake Test:

This will hijack you to their Facebook page where I posted the pic. I tried to post it here, but it was way too big. FB auto-resized the image.
