Can I transition from M to N with a batch from both Moloka'i and Ni'ihau? Both were day trips in September.

Father Damien statue, Molokai'i. Damien De Veuster, who spent 16 years serving the leper colony on Molokai'i before succumbing to the disease himself. Canonized as Saint Damien of Moloka'i, the Apostle of the Lepers, in 2009.

Hawaiian Monk Seal, Kepuhi Beach, Molokai'i

3,500+ foot sea cliffs, Molokai'i

St. Joseph Church, Molikai'i. Third oldest church on the island, built by Father Damien in 1876

Overlook to the isolated Kalaupapa peninsula, remnants of the former leper colony. With the single trail washed out, inaccessible other than by plane, and requiring a permit to visit. Former patients living in Kalaupapa today have chosen to remain here, most for the rest of their lives. With medication, there are no remaining cases of leprosy/Hansen's disease.

Ka'aku'u Beach, Ni'ihau, looking northward with Lehua in the background

Northern Ni'ihau

Looking westward across Ni'ihau, with the only settlement of Puuwai in the distance.

Hawaiian Monk Seal on Keamano Beach, Ni'ihau.

The Hawaiian monk seal is one of the most endangered seal species in the world. The population overall had been declining for six decades, and current numbers, though increasing, are only about one-third of historic population levels. …
Hawaiian monk seals are endemic to the Hawaiian archipelago—occurring nowhere else in the world…
The population is estimated to be around 1,600 seals—nearly 1,200 seals in the Northwestern Hawaiian Islands and 400 seals in the main Hawaiian Islands.

Nagoya

Nansen Island - Antarctica. Skiing down to the pickup point was not for the faint of heart!

Nara

New York during the 2003 blackout. I lived in Manhattan so wasn't concerned about getting home. I had already gone home to get my bike and go around and see the chaos. Surge pricing in private cars long before Uber/Lyft for people heading in the same general direction.
