DP Review status update

DP Review is being shut down by Amazon (its owners) effective April 10. IMO this is one of the best, if not THE best digital photo sites on the web, and its loss will be sorely felt.

I'd give my opinion on this but either I'd end up in timeout or the thread would be sent to OMNI land.

I used to spend a lot of time there. I visited a few weeks ago for the first time in years and it was quite dead. So this isn’t surprising.

Is there another site out there that also has content and forums? I was a casual reader but found some things very helpful.

It's a shame that Amazon is laying waste to so many businesses. Now they've killed off a forum? I'll miss DPR - it was quite a resource.

Personally I frequent FredMiranda.com for my photo forum fix and being a serious sufferer of GAS the Buy and Sell is probably the best place to ahh... buy and sell.

Wow, what a shame. I've been reading DPR for over two decades. FM has a similar reputation, so maybe that's where I will be going next.

apparently they have been granted an extension, it remains to be seen how long until amazon pulls the plug: https://www.dpreview.com/news/050790...sure-an-update
