My first encounter with the kids in East Timor, our planet's newest country. I only spent a few days there, but it felt like a much longer time and I quickly became part of the local community. This little fella apparently liked my company too haha.

Dark clouds over the Jesus statue in East Timor's capital Dili. Just love dramatic cloud formations like those!

They say everything in Australia wants to kill you... However It's certainly not as bad as it sounds and you will barely get across any of the really dangerous animals. This snake is probably not even harmful, but still makes for a good picture in Gregory National Park.

The pool at Lake Argyle was probably the highlight over there, pretty awesome view for sure! It's only this empty in the morning before they open it

This amazing climbing tree can be found in Lake Kununurra, just around the corner of Lake Argyle in Western Australia. Great spot to cool off for a while before hitting the road again!

Really liked this tattoo of one of my fellow road trip members. So simple and meaningful! Keep wandering

The beehive shaped hills in the Purnululu National Park form the bungle bungles range and offer a few nice hikes. This one is on the way to whip snake gorge after losing my travel mates, took a while to run into each other again!

One of the palms in the Mini Palm Gorge in Purnululu National Park. The hike was probably the least interesting of our 2 days in the park, but this picture of the palm bending in the wind still turned out nicely.

Absolutely stunning atmosphere during sunset at my all time favorite free campsite and also best unexpectedly awesome place in all of Australia: the Boab Quarry Campsite! More pictures to come...

The view from my little sunrise spot above the Boab Quarry camp site in Western Australia. There is no path up there but with a tiny bit of scrambling, you can make it to the top easily.. we'll worth it for sure!

The Tunnel Creek National Park in Western Australia. Pretty cool hike through little caves and water, my favorite spot was actually this one right at the entrance looking back.

Another picture from the Tunnel Creek National Park. Coming out on the other side of the cave after wading through some water, you get to these cool looking Stalactites up on the roof.

One of the reasons why people flock in to Cable Beach in Western Australia: riding the camels during sunset! Nothing I wanted to do myself, but certainly a great motive for a photo.

Chris, I've just clicked "Like" on some of your photographs that I found particularly striking, but I could easily do the same for all of them. Thank you for sharing these wonderful photos with us!

The staircase to the Moon in Western Australia is basically a full moon rising over muddy sand bank in the ocean during low tide. The main location to see it is Broome, I missed it there though and see it from Port Headland. In the end, it probably looks exactly the same anyway.
