Corpse with false passport stays 16 days at airport

CAIRO - A corpse with a false passport spent 16 days at Cairo airport before Egyptian authorities agreed to release it for burial on Friday, airport sources said.

The authorities checked the corpse's fingerprints and then formed a committee to ponder the case, they said.

Why didn't they just get a big pile of Egyptian Pound notes and set fire to it?

I'm sure having a false passport is a serious crime in Egypt as it is in most countries; perhaps the "committee" should try the corpse and sentence it to "life" in prison before releasing it to next-of-kin or burying it in the prison cemetary.

Methinks the Cairo airport has been listening too much to USA-politicians'/govt's "security" advice.
