Does Upgrade Trigger Search?
According to the long Washington Post story on airport security this morning, "modification" of a ticket within 72 hours of flight is a "behavior" that the "computer Assisted Passenger Pre-screening Program" (CAPP) looks for.
Does anyone know whether getting an upgrade counts? I ask partly because my boarding pass was marked "S" for the first time last week at FCA when a subsequent segment of the journey had been upgraded 24 hours earlier.

Agreed
I fly every week on United and had never had the dreaded SSSS until last week.
I tried the Flyer Talk suggestion of "change your seat and the SSSS goes away" but it didn't. I was in FC in 1B -- maybe the computer decided that i was too close to the cockpit.
Nobody knows...
