The P-8A and the Airbus A320 that Sullenberger piloted are roughly the same size.
Diane Dircks, 61, and her family had just returned to the dock after the rainy weather cut their pontoon boat trip short when her daughter noticed the plane in the water.
"We went running over to the end of the dock, and I took some pictures," she said.

Interesting how they are going to pull it back... and will it be repairable.
It is content inside that plane that is more expensive than the airframe, I guess.

I believe the 737 fuselage is heavily modified for a belly that opens to drop sonar buoys and depth charges. Supposedly has wing-mounted missile racks too. The salt water won't do it much good.
