Reminds me on a smaller scale of the grad student here on FT who posted about their trips from southern to northern California, mostly on Alaska airlines, for a similar reason.

…… and here I thought commuting by air for c. $50 each way was a deal in the 1990s. And here she is doing this for $27 a flight. Allegiant or Spirit?
