I thought the FAA rejected a similar request in early July and informed people that it would not regulate minimum seat size or airline legroom.

I'm not sure the airlines could logistically respond in 12 months ....

Since when can the FAA "introduce a bill"? Doesn't this need to be done by a member of Congress?

The FAA can make regulations that pertain to its mission, as can the DOT, or Congress can direct them to formulate regulations on certain issues.

My thoughts as well on both counts.

What about H.R. 4: FAA Reauthorization Act of 2018, which has gone through the House (May 2018) and is pending in the Senate?

Sec. 541.Minimum dimensions for passenger seats(a)
In general
Not later than 1 year after the date of enactment of this Act, and after providing notice and an opportunity for comment, the Administrator of the Federal Aviation Administration shall issue regulations that establish minimum dimensions for passenger seats on aircraft operated by air carriers in interstate air transportation or intrastate air transportation, including minimums for seat pitch, width, and length, and that are necessary for the safety and health of passengers.

They are tying to add more people inside and this is perfect normal for the sake of randament. But if the plane gets bigger is totally acceptable to have more seats.

I would prefer to pay less for a minus 1.5 inches seat .

That seemed strange to me as well. Not sure if it is accurate or the media reporting it wrong.

In any case, I have no objection to some minimum size and spacing standards. But, once you remove some seats, who gets left behind?

OP simply made a statement. He has been a member since 2010. Presumably, he can cite us to a source for his knowledge.

OP has a whole bunch of screen shots of the article. What other type of cite is anyone looking for?

PITTSBURGH (CNN) — A new bill from the Federal Aviation Administration aiming to set minimum seat sizes on airplanes within a year is now in Congress.
Govtrack shows nothing new. It wouldn't surprise me if KDKA is referring to the SEAT act of 2017 - it's "now in Congress", and how do you define "new"? No one else is reporting such legislation, per Google.

For anyone else who was curious, Google tells me randament is Romanian for "yield".

I learned something new today....

A much better title for this thread is "Congress includes minimum seat size for plane seats in FAA bill"
