Bombardier CSeries flies!

She lifted off from Mirabel at 9:54 EDT, being 14:54 GMT. She has never landed. A live broadcast is ongoing at:

That can get interesting.

I remember a quote that was drilled into us at pilot training: Every takeoff is optional; All landings are mandatory.

Considering that the pilot was at the presser, I would assume it successfully landed.

I think with all the press re:787 Armand's company is trying to pick a perfect flying day.
Now if only politician have senses and I will be jetting out of YTZ.

Doesn't any landing that everyone walks away from qualify as "successful"?

Yes, it will be very successful flight. They will be very happy to be on the first flight.

CS300 first flight today!

The CS300 larger variant of the CSeries made its first flight today. The bone chilling -20 degree air made for a nice quick take off.

Can't wait to see this bird in action with LX. I even recently got an J amenity kit from them with the aircraft printed on it... so I guess they're looking forward to it as well.

Good to see it landed safe and sound.
