Roo turns airport into hopper's crossing

Travellers were greeted with a surprise this morning when a kangaroo was spotted in a car park at Melbourne Airport.

The kangaroo was safely removed from the fifth floor of the airport's long-term car park.

The animal was discovered after users on social media site Twitter alerted the airport around 7.30am.

It really doesn't help the perception that many people have of Australia and kangaroos in the main streets but hey it happens.

Hoppers Crossing is the name of a suburb in south western Melbourne and not really too far from MEL airport so an opportunity for a good headline was effectively utilised.
