Saw this in an e-newsletter I receive.
"Some of us find ourselves in third world countries where the water supply is less than reliable. I discovered a new product from Whirlpool that filters water, is real-time, and is not only convenient, but elegant as well. For $20 you can insure than you will never be without clean water." https://www.everydropwater.com/product-details.html
Not tried it, but might be worth checking.
Cheers.

In places where I only drink bottled water, plus trains and airplanes, I use bottled water.
If I trust the tap water, I generally don't trust the cleanliness of hotel glasses so I use my own water bottle.

The only place I've ever did it was in Cairo but I still got a tummy bug through goodness knows what.
I've visited China several times and always just used tap water....never had a problem.

I've used tap water in both countries, no real issues. I generally make sure to gargle a lot of mouthwoush afterwards though, just as a neurotic "safety measure."
