How long does it take/gate checked stroller
We're taking our son for his 1st flight today and we connect in IAH but we have to gate check the stroller and car seat. It's a 757-200 and we're in 1st class, but I have no idea how long we have to wait. Our connection is only 51 minutes so we're going to have to be on time as it is, but if it is a long wait for the gate-checked items, we're in trouble. I can't say I ever noticed anyone else's gate checked strollers on the bigger planes before- does it take long?

I've done it a few times and it's only taken a few minutes. I'm usually at the back of the plane, though, so it might seem to take longer for you since you'll be off first.
I see you flew yesterday--sorry you didn't get a response before then. Let us know how it went.

Agreed
Typically when we fly 'normal' airlines we're towards the front and so we wait all of 5 min for the stroller. When we took a recent trip on WN we tended to wait for the stampede to die down and so by the time we got off the plane with the last 1/3 of the crowd, the stroller was there waiting for us. We noticed the longest times were from the commuter/express lines flying RJs. It seemed like they offloaded all the checked bags first and then brought the large carry-ons and strollers up to the jetway.

I think out of our past 10 flights, I've had to wait for the stroller once. Then again, I typically let most of the plane deboard before attempting to lug all our stuff + toddler down the aisle, unless we're in the way back. If we were in the front, I can see waiting 5 minutes or so.

Generally the ground crews are pretty fast about it, 5-10 minutes. Though on one of our Hawaiin Airlines flights they actually had everyone's stollers open and ready for kiddos on the jetway before we even got off the plane.

usually just a few minutes, though recently qantas to BKK they left it on the plane so we had to hang around at baggage claim for an hour with a 1 year old around 3am our time..that was fun
worth checking whether to expect it when you get off plane or when you collect bags..
