For basic economy tickets where seats cannot be selected before checkin. Do they try to separate you to make you buy main cabin next time?

yea bro they def do that lol. even if the flight's half empty, basic econ flyers still get scattered unless u get lucky. they tryna make it uncomfortable so next time u pay up for main cabin. seen it happen a bunch, especially with families or couples. only way around it is check in early or ask gate agent real nice… sometimes they’ll help u out if the plane ain’t full.

How many children and adults? Start with asking for asking if one adult can be seated with the kid(s)

idk if they do, but my experience is that most of the time we sit together if the flight is not full and separated if the flight is
