PG Air
Does anyone have any experience with PG Air? I need to fly (some time off, next spring) from Da Nang to HKT, and there is a flight from DAD to BKK on PG Air, which would enable me to bypass an extra flight from DAD to SGN.
(Well, I think there's a flight. Their website only lists schedules through October 2007.)
I'm not looking for a budget travel experience, but given the time/hassle that I'll save by bypassing SGN, it might be worth it. I'm wondering about reliability, safety, etc. My overall itin is REP-DAD-HKT-BKK/DMK. I think the only option REP-DAD is VN. Thanks.

Not an LCC ...
Bangkok Airways (PG) is a delightful boutique regional airline. I've flown several segments each spring with Bangkok Airways for the past four years. It is not a low cost carrier. Its on-time record is admirable, as is its in-flight service & snack box. This is the airline that is head and shoulders above the other regionals.

I flew PB Air (9Q) BKK(Don Maung)-DAD a couple of years ago. It was a pretty decent flight. The Thai check-in agent gave me preferential treatement, presumably because I'm American (not fair to the Vietnamese passengers but who am I to complain
. It was a ERJ-145, aparently well maintained and in any case was clean and looked new. The cabin crew were very friendly and efficent. Meal was served. The pilot seemed competent, as far as I could tell anyway. In all, a professional operation as far as ERJ-145's go. Since AFIK they are the only non-stop option DAD-BKK, they are just fine and it is not really worth an unnecessary connection to fly anyone else.
