The Rosewood is currently taking reservation and I'm considering booking for this winter but I'm not sure about the beach and surrounding areas its in. Is anyone familiar with where the Rosewood is going to be located in Phuket? Is the beach area nice?
We are looking to spend about 6 nights. I thought I had narrowed my choices down to Anantara Layan or Mai Khao when I heard back from someone on TA saying the beach at Layan was ugly and brown (I'm in Miami so used to nice beaches, the person I spoke to via TA was also from Miami and strongly recommended against Layan saying the beach would be a huge disappointment). I didn't go with Mai Khao because it seems to be a distance away and I read that because its far from everything there is an added surcharge on all excursions.
Aman is out of our reach for our dates as is Trisara. We are already confirmed at FS Chiang Mai. I already have suggestions for BKK, now just need something for Phuket and later on will deal with Siam Reap. So can anyone speak of the location for Rosewood? Is the area easily reached or is it remote? Nice beach? Easy to get to sites for sightseeing? TIA!

It is located at Tri Trang Beach. Not the best beach on Phuket by a longshot. Close to Patong but you will need transport. you can see its' location here....
It is in front of Twin Sands. If you want to go anywhere you will have to go into Patong first. You would be better off up at the north of Phuket or in the Laguna area.
