QR to PG (QR code share) connection

We are going to be flying DOH BKK USM. All our flights are booked on QR tickets, so we will be able to check our luggage all the way from DOH to USM.

I have searched threads, but cannot find a definite answer. When we land at BKK, do we need to collect our luggage, or just clear immigration, then security, and collect our luggage at USM where we clear customs?

Also as we have an African passport for which yellow fever certificate is a must, do we go to the Health Counter before we clear immigration?

Duty Free - can we buy on arrival at BKK before we clear immigration, and the carry onto USM?

How much time should we allow to connect at BKK without feeling rushed?

Thanks

Also as we have an African passport

Can you share which country? If not visa-exempt eligible will you have a visa or be eligible for a Visa on Arrival?

If you have a Kenyan passport, I think you will require a visa? With a valid visa, and the Yellow Fever certificate, I think you can use the mid-field procedures described below:

You should be able to buy duty free on arrival; they will ask if you are flying on, and seal the bag(s). But if you clear Immigration and Customs in BKK, then maybe re-pack DF purchases in your checked bags, head up to level 4, check in with PG and clear domestic security/departures.

I might arrange ~ 3 hours (at a minimum) but a lot will depend on your passport/visa situation.

Thanks for the detailed message. We have a Kenyan passport, so will get the visa before we arrive into BKK, and have valid yellow fever.

I have had a look at the airport links, and it does say clear immigration then customs, but does not say if we should collect our luggage and then re-check it.

Thanks for the Duty Free suggestion.

If your bags are checked through to USM in DOH, then you will clear Immigration in BKK, and retrieve checked bags and clear Customs in USM.

If your bags are only checked through to BKK, then clear main (east/west) Immigration, claim checked bags, clear Customs, head from level 2 up to level 4, check in with PG, then clear domestic security/departures.

Thanks. That makes sense.
