Trink: The Nite Owl

After he got fired from the BKK Post he had a website/blog for awhile. Haven't heard anything about him since. Anyone know if he's still blogging? If so, where can he be found. I used to look forward to Friday's BKK Post and turned to him column first.

Well, I didn't know he'd been fired from the Bangkok Post! Do you know anything more (that you can post on the forum that is, otherwise feel free to pm me)? I noticed that in recent years his column no longer appeared in the paper - which in my opinion has seriously gone downhill recently. When I was there in 2012 I bought the paper every day for a week but there was nothing that you could say was anything like his old column.

After his column was cancelled he occasionally wrote a review or two. But not for several years. I should say "I understand" he was fired. Certainly his regular column, which was very popular, was removed.

Evidently Trink has retired. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bernard_Trink

OP might take a look at http://stickmanbangkok.com/ which is sorta like what Trink used to cover. Look through the site for the stickman weekly column section. If risque topics bother you stay away.

Stickman has a fairly interesting interview with Trink from 2004:

As of 2010, he's apparently still writing book reviews for the Post, but seems to have given up the nightlife scene for good:

He's been gone from the Post for a long time, but a lot of his old articles are archived from 1996. Don't have the URL but saw it on oocities, I believe. They probably decided his material wasn't politically correct enough at the Post, but then again there's a lot in BKK even now that's not exactly considered PC.
