Can I drive in Thailand with a HK license?

I try to find posts about this, but the information I got is contradictory.
The HK license is in English but without photo. It has the HKID card number on it and says only to be valid together with the ID card. Of course I carry both.

You need an international DL. Should be easy to obtain in HK
