2013 American Independence Day Picnic Bangkok

Of possible interest to anyone who's in Bangkok this week and might be homesick for the traditional 4th of July festivities...

The American Chamber of Commerce (AMCHAM) Annual Independence Day Picnic will be held this coming Saturday, July 6, at the KIS International School, from 12 noon until 8 p.m.

COST:
฿ 200 per person if purchased in advance from AMCHAM
฿ 300 per person at the event
Children under 12 are free

Note that because there is no on-site parking, AMCHAM recommends taking the MRT to Huai Khwang station where a free shuttle will be provided.

  • Live bands
  • Kids' activities
  • Chili cook-off
  • Hot dogs, hamburgers and ribs
  • Coca-Cola and beer
  • Charity raffle

exactly.

That must be why they're ending it at 8:00 -- too early for fireworks and blown off fingers.

I went to this event in 2001 when it used to be held at NIST on Soi 15. Not a bad way to spend the day
