Golf in BKK
I'm looking for some advice from the Thailand experts here. I'm coming to BKK and would like to spend a day golfing at a course near the city that isn't too expensive ($50-75). Can anyone recommend a few good courses as well as an agent or a car service who can get me from my hotel to the course and back? What should I expect to pay for the car service and club rentals at the course? Thanks

Here's a few of my favorites that will be around your price range. Some of this will depend on where you are staying in relation to how long it will take to get to the course/back to your hotel.
Royal
Muang Kaew
Lam Luk Ka
Vintage
Summit Windmill
Suprapruek
All of these would be on the East side of town. There are other good ones, but they will be more than your price range.
In terms of a service, your hotel should be able to set that up for you, or I'm sure even a google search will provide several companies.

The Westin Grande Sukhumvit caters to lots of golfers from Japan. I bet they could set something up for you easily.

I just got back from Bangkok, and I played at the following:
Krisda City Hills - West side, clubhouse was kind of run down, but golf course was in good condition. I want to say the total cost was 1200 THB (exclusive of club rental).
Windsor Park - East side, a real nice course and they have a promotion going on right now with 800THB green fees (caddy fee extra).
Cascata - East side, a beautiful course with very fast greens. This one is a bit pricey. Once you throw in the Cart fee and caddy fee (both compulsory), it came to 2600 THB. Still a bargain IMO.
Royal Gems Golf City - Once the trees mature, this is going to be a beautiful course. The front nine consist of replicas of some of the famous golf holes around the world. Oakmont's church pew bunkers, Sawgrass 17th, Bay Hill 6th, Road Hole, Postage Stamp green. The back nine is a replica of Augusta back nine including all elevation changes. The greens had been recently aerated, but it was still a good time. This one came to about 3000 THB.
