QANTAS closed down 29 Oct 2011

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-1550483
ALL QANTAS takeoffs worldwide, whether international or domestic are cancelled immediately. The entire fleet will be grounded until further notice. Aircraft that are now in the air will not continue their journeys once they have landed. That means if you're due to leave from Bangkok tonight on a QF flight in any direction then you won't be going - at least not an a QANTAS aircraft.

CEO Joyce says staff will assist pax get to their destinations via other carriers.

For some reason the previous link gives me a 404 page not found..

another link for the same story.

This is a labor action, and Quantas is locking out the employees due to the industrial dispute.

Hopefully not, maybe the appropriate FT http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/qanta...ent-flyer-498/ forum would do, no?

Precisely my thoughts at the time of getting the information. What with posters talking on this particular forum of imminent changes in flights etc due to floods, the last thing they needed were further complications by not being aware of additional situation's.

Heavens above. Would a moderator please remove my post and kindly place it where you feel it is more appropiate.
Had i initially posted it in any of the above sticky's the first poster to reply to it would have hidden it as a headline ( alert ) surely that is not to uncomprehensible to understand.
