Koh Samui in August?

Hi all,

I'm looking for a bit of advice. My company is thinking of organising a sales meeting in Thailand in August and since several people have already been to Phuket, Koh Samui has been suggested as another option to allow people to see a new place.

That being said, I've stubbled on several articles on the web that mention that there was very heavy flooding last month so I am a bit worried about the damage this could have cause to the infrastructue and whether it could happen while we are there. We might have some business partners there as well so the last thing we want is to have a massive group of people under our responsability stuck there for a long time due to the weather.

Any advice?

Thanks!

Max

I'm planning to head to Koh Samui in August also, and it shouldn't be the rainy season during that time. The heavy flooding also occured during a time when it shouldn't have rained as much, so it's impossible to predict. I'm not sure how much of the damage will be repaired by August, but we'll have to find out from someone who lives or been there recently.
