TG & SR code-share BKK-ZRH

Thai Airways International and Swissair have begun code-shared flights on the Bangkok-Zurich route, with a combined frequency of 14 flights a week.

Flights operated by Swissair depart Bangkok at 11:30 pm daily and arrive in Zurich at 6:10 am, while THAI flights leave Bangkok at 12:30 am and arrive in Zurich at 7:10 am. From Zurich, Swissair flights depart at 8:45 pm and arrive in Bangkok at 12:35 pm; the THAI flights leave at 2:30 pm and arrives at 6:20 am.

Members of THAI's Royal Orchid Plus frequent-flyer programme and Swissair's Qualifyer can accumulate miles on flights operated by either carrier. All flights use MD-11 aircraft, allowing the airlines to co-operate in areas such as technical development, maintenance and catering.

Swissair is not a member of the Star Alliance, but a THAI spokesman said the code-sharing agreement would not affect THAI's status in the alliance.

The arrangement, he said, was simply a means of maximising the potential of a bilateral aviation agreement.

Do they also use the same arrangement to Australia? If so, then how often per week.
