The B747 in J is (was for me) and old style one with cradle seats and limited pitch (maybe 40'). Service is excellent, and will occupy most of the trip. Lounge in HKG is great, shrimp dim sum and sweet chili sauce is excellent.
65 minutes is tight. The domestic terminal is a 20 minute HARD walk from Terminal 1 where you will arrive. Customs can take anywhere from 0 - 20 minutes aswell. I have lived and worked in BKK. I would try for it, but I won't bet money on it.

You will take a bus to the plane and board via stairs at the rear of the plane. Everyone else will already be onboard. 65 mins is enough time. Upon arrival at Phuket there will be someone holding a sign with names of all those that need to clear customs.
This is much better than trying to clear customs at BKK and then travel over to the domestic terminal.

I was in booked in C end of June. I asked at check-in for upgrade options and they offered an upgrade to F for 690 HKD (80 USD)
It was worth every cent.
Escorted to passport control
Golfcart to the Lounge
F Lounge was suberb
Dom & VC Grande Dame on board with great service
Golfcart in BKK
Express Immigration
Limousine to the Hotel
I highly recommend this option - btw I got F miles as it was a paid upg
Enjoy it

Bear in mind as fast as you go up you will be coming down and a $100 buys a lot of good food and drink in Thailand.
If your going for it go to F not C and the seating is pretty poor.
Whatever class you sit in the FA's will be great and the service superb.

F oneway is about 360 USD for BKK-HKG versus 600 for HKG-BKK
