OP mentioned that he usually just flies cattle and first time F...so in what regards should he "lower his expectation"?

That really depends on the day and flight path. I have seen Fuji on flights from Narita to Bangkok plenty of times, though I have also had both routes or weather preventing any Fuji views. Though very tiny in the horizon I have seen Fuji on a NRT to SAN climb.

Going to and from Asian destinations I generally like to select a seat that allows for the Fuji views, and then enjoy it if I get lucky. More frequently not seeing Fuji, admittedly.

I'd imagine many people whose sole experience is flying cattle class have quite exaggerated ideas of what happens at the pointy end of the plane. I've certainly heard some absolutely hilarious fantasies at dinner parties when guests who always travel in Economy find out I'm a very frequent flier up the front. And, after all, it is TG

RTWFF. I actually think BinSabai's point is well made. The OP hasn't expressed what his/her expectation(s) might be, and so suggesting 'lowering expectations' doesn't make a useful contribution.

I would guess OP probably is after perspectives from those who have traveled in F, and further would assume that they will have looked at reviews, blogs etc etc - and so have an initial sense of F on THAI (but maybe not other carriers).

Hopefully OP has some specific questions we all can help with.

as I would never brag in front of cattle class fliers about my flights in front of the cabin, I probably have no idea about their expectations…
if you tell them stories beyond reality, then of course expectations become exaggerated...

If you are on the late night departure there will be a very light snack after departure, and a breakfast before landing.

After check in, the staff will walk you to the crew lane for security check. The lounge will be the ANA Suite Lounge, which that time of day will be insanely crowded, to the level it is difficult finding anywhere to sit. No escort from lounge to plane.

in HND they show you where the fast track (immigration and afterwards security) is located, but it did not feel like a real escort.
The normal ANA lounge is very crowded in the late evening (but I always founded a seat), the ANA Suite lounge is quite full, but you will be able to find some seat

As an F passenger I have always been taken to the crew security line, not the normal fast track. In the evening the normal fast track is rather slow

You will eventually and usually find a seat, but it is not that there is a lot of options.

I would rather dress comfortably (but not trashy), and just be myself.
And don't be too full of youself. The groud crew, lounge staff, flight attendants service many first class customers everyday.They will follow their first class service protocols regardless who you are....well..unless you are someone famous :-)

I have the 00.20 flight......a very light snack :) ... Lucky we are flying to Sydney later in the afternoon :) We will love the BKK Lounge

I don't have pictures of the snack, as I sleep through it. But I have pictures of the breakfast when I reach home the coming weekend. It is actually not impressive

The BKK lounge will water and feed you, and so will a day time flight to Sydney

I'm flying F for the first time with TG next month too. Have only flown J with Emirates and TG before, though since moving from UK - Australia, the better opportunities for credit card churning means I'll be doing EK and SQ F next year along with CX J.

I'm doing FRA - BKK and BKK - SYD (starting in LHR with J flight to FRA). I'm in BKK for close to twelve hours, I've heard the lounge food isn't anything to write home about? Anything worth trying? The stuff I saw online didn't look much better than J lounge food.

I'll head into BKK during the day anyway - though actually as much as I love Thai food I'll be checking out one of the excellent French restaurants I went to last time I was in BKK. Australia has excellent East Asian food but terrible French food!
