So what's the consensus on this service? Do we think the 747 is safe for now on this route? Or are we still waiting for other planes to potentially be reallocated to this route?

Still waiting but not for long. The last aircraft is due to arrive soon and we’ll have more info in above 2 weeks.

What evidence do you have that they’ve been withdrawn from Sydney? If so, what are the last flights that are being operated there by a 747?

I note also the flight to BOM I was looking at used 744, but no idea if routine, seasonal or random.

https://www.routesonline.com/news/38...-to-june-2018/

The last A350 will be utilized for expending A350s to PVG.
In order to support twice day to SYD with A350 as the SYD article suggested, TG will have to remove about 1.5 X A350 from other routes.
My bet is that F for SYD is off the hook for now unless TG is planing something which is not as described in the SYD article.

Edit: TG with have => TG will have

This thread is not about betting so if you still want to know why I won the bet, you are welcome to PM me and I will explain

What’s important in this thread is what is going to happen on the TG SYD route. Because TG can decide one thing and change its mind, there’s nothing for sure (except for the fact that someday in the future, all current 747 will retire) but as more and more info comes in, we know more and my conclusion is that with the info at hand, F to SYD is off the hook for now. You are welcome to read again what I and others have written and come to any conclusion you find fit and you are also welcome to explain why you came to your conclusion and not just throw remarks for the sake of making remarks as seen in your quotes above.
