It pays to either call them or visit a ticket office, rather than try booking on the website.

I was trying for a few weeks to book on the website, four Business Class return award redemptions on Thai, to anywhere in Europe, for next summer, without any success. The Rewards redemption part of the website really sucks. It showed no availability for the whole of June and July, so I went to Suvarnabhumi an hour earlier than usual for a flight this week and went to the airport ticket office. I left 30 minutes later with four confirmed seats to Paris, taxes and charges paid, tickets issued....no problems.

I always planned almost one year ahead when it comes to Songkran (9 months to be precise). But yes, I have been told times and times again that it's less of a disappointment if you pay the local office or ROP call center a visit and to not do it through the website.

What I have noticed is that for some markets, (ex-NZ at least) pricing for Q class (100% miles) appears to have increased quite a bit, meaning I will now use T/K (75% miles) if I wish to apply a GUP/GUP2 but at similar prices to what I paid for Q class only a few years ago.
Besides the lower mileage earn, T/K come with more restrictive conditions.
Overall, this could have a nett effect of making making GUPing Economy to Business a more expensive and/or more restrictive fare than what was the case.

This is true - in terms of absolute availability. However...

Haha thanks TK. This is very good news for me, as Q fares are so expensive these days they would definitely violate company travel policy..
