MEL-BKK on 777 - is it old Biz or Jet Airways plane?

I know nothing is possible to predict for SURE with TG and anything could change but for Sept 21 I am seeing 777-300LR MEL-BKK .... and same plane seems to continue to London.

Is that the worn old 777 or the nice new style bed Jet one?

Are the Jet ones handed back to them by end Sept?

Thanks for any educated guesses on this.

Glen

My guess is not the leased 777s since I am pretty sure those are 777-300ERs not LRs.

The seat map shows 2-3-2 in ExpertFlyer, so I think you are out of luck

Where are you seeing this?

777 does not fly to LHR & I'm pretty sure there is no such thing as a 777-300LR!

Hi, My guess would be is you will have what you call "that worn old 777" through to Bangkok, then as it has been this month, the elongated A346 to London. If you would like a younger aircraft there are some nicer ones coming out of Sydney during the time line you mentioned.

it is a Boeing 777-300, same as has been featured on the MEL route for some time now. There is no LR.

...and I don't think 'old & worn' is a fair description of it!

certainly not. the -300's were only refurbed in the last few years. I'm quite happy in any TG 777

They state the 777-200 is the one to be on.

Maybe they have them mixed up?

I did...probably close to a year ago...no update forthcoming. You need to realise that Seatguru is littered with inaccuracies...I don't look at it anymore.

I use seatguru all the time as I fly a ton or different airlines, and find it very accurate.

I've passed on this thread to them ... if someone would care to actually highlight WHERE they are in error on the thread, they doubtless will update.

So far from the comments above I have no idea WHAT 777 flies from MEL and the Biz seating.

TG says it is a 777-300. Seatguru outlines that as the ancient config. Hence this thread.

Maybe what seatguru calls a 777-200 is where the error is?

I have no idea and they will not either unless somenoe explains it logically to them.

I did explain it logically to them!!!

I included the links to the pdfs from the TG website detailing the accurate seat map and product. They still have not updated the web site...so therefore there's nothing 'doubtless' about them taking the time to process updates. They told me it was in their queue and would be done before end 2011.

NO TG 777 has the ancient config described by Seatguru. The 777-200 has the same angled lie flats as the 747 & A346. 777-300 and 777-200ER have a more modern version of those seats with 15" screen. I first flew TG 777-300 in Dec 2009 & even then they were all refurbed.

Well I hope they drop by and pay attention.

Someone kindly posted a TG link above.

Maybe a small keen group here needs to start a thread and simply show the REAL 777-300 configs like this, and it will be easy to follow.

ozstamps - it's quite easy to refer to thaiairways.com to find the seating configuration. you have been putting way too much trust in seatguru.

Imagine how much fun it's going to be when Thai start flying their new 77Ws and the 74N starts flying!
