DAL to DFW transfer

Hey flights during Christmas are pretty insane. I will be flying Virgin America from DCA into Love field arriving around 9:37 AM (from DCA) and departing DFW at 12:35 on AA going to Longview, TX. We are planning on taking Uber/Lyft between the 2 airports and based on what I've found, the most time it'll take is 40 min (in normal circumstances). I have several questions-
1. Is it easy to navigate DAL (we aren't checking bags)
2. Can you use rideshare services at Dallas airports?
3. we have alternate flights just in case but are we crazy?? 3 hrs seems like enough, we are both fast and experienced travelers but does anyone else have past experiences that would say this is a bad idea?

1. yes

3. it should be enough time, assuming you don't have a big delay on the inbound. But have you considered just renting a car at DAL and driving to Longview? It's only abut a 2 hour drive, so you could be at Longview before the DFW flight starts boarding.

Agreed, taking a taxi from DAL to DFW is 25 minutes the opposite direction of Longview. A rental car from DAL to Longview will take less time than going from DAL to DFW, going through security and catching a flight will take longer than just driving to Longview.

If you arrive at 9:37 AM at DAL you could collect your bags, rent a car and be in Longview by 12:35 PM instead of catching a flight at DFW.

Renting a car is not an option. I know it’s probably more economical but im traveling with a child and the child will be continuing to Longview while I fly to Atlanta. Thanks for your replies. I thought it would be enough but wanted to make sure as I’m not very familiar with Texas/Dallas at all
