It's an expansion they call a "Stinger". Here's a PDF of the project:

Thanks!

Wonder if this is for some form of D expansion for the 380? (Just speculating)

Negative. The stinger will have 10 gates and is meant for regional jets.

I meant in terms of expanding D with the added space between D and B. However on looking at the rendering again, it is on the opposite side on D, so my question is moot.

What added space between D and B? The connector already exists.

I know. I had this wonky idea in my head that isn't at all what is happening.

As this topic is specific to an airport and not to an airline, we'll move this to the more appropriate destination forum. Thanks! /JY1024, AAdvantage forum co-moderator

The "Apron" at D remains uncluttered, and I suspect you'll see some jetway changes somewhere in the middle of its arc to accommodate A380s (in limited numbers of ARR/DPTs)

I had thought D was already set to handle an A380.

Anyway, thanks for this. I used to be in an out of B on a weekly basis, but stopped my heavy travel at Thanksgiving last year.

so MORE Eagle flights out of DFW. Does this mean even more cuts in mainline flights out of DFW?

Connector gates

Some of the connector gates between B and D are being renovated to make them able to serve both domestic and international flights

Interesting. Not enough gates at D ? Everyone can handle international arrivals. Or maybe they are doing it for international flights operated by Eagle?
