I do refer to Dallas as Baja Oklahoma. for the nearly six years I lived in Oklahoma City it seemed all the young folks and teachers were moving to Dallas, something which seemed like a horrid idea.

And you are correct it is Hew-ston, not yew-ston, House-ton or other such nonsense.

No worries, I am well aware of how to pronounce the city in Texas. From the number of times I have had to correct out-of-towners on the pronunciation of Houston St. in Manhattan, I'm quite sure that the Hew-ston version is by far the best known!
