DFW Connction from AA to UA
My DH and I are flying into DFW (arrive C terminal) and we will be handing off our daughter to the grandparents - we are planning on meeting them at baggage claim at terminal C. We then depart 1.5hrs later out of terminal E on UA (will not check luggage). What is our best option:
1) Security back into terminal c and take skylink to terminal e?
2) Take terminal link all the way around to E and then security there?
3) Other option not aware of
We could have the grandparents drive us to terminal E if absolutly necessary but want to avoid a melt down with the 3yr old. It would be easier to hand her off quickly when she is still excited to see grandma.
Time frame for each option?
THX

First of all, are you sure you'll be flying into C? A flight may use C for the last 5 days, but end up going into A or D the next. Definitely be prepared to reach the grandparents via cell, or have them check online or call the airline.
But to answer your question, quickest will probably be to re-clear security at the closest checkpount and ride the skylink. It runs every 2 minutes, and once on board, C to E is a 2-4 minute ride. Outside security, the Terminal Link bus ride may be just as quick, but the bus doesn't run nearly as often.

As mentioned, a flight on AA might arrive at a gate at Terminal A,B,C or D (and change at the last minute)......so it's more of a sure thing to meet grandparents at United at Terminal E. Wherever you land on AA, take the SkyTraaaaain (staying inside security) to Terminal E (daughter should enjoy the views) to meet grandparents.
Terminal E tends to be less busy, less chaotic than the AA terminals, so should be a calmer hand-off and easier to find one another. Maybe the UA ticket agent at Terminal E would give grandparents a pass to get through security to meet the child?

Arrive, and AA arrivals as noted can vary from terminal to terminal depending on conditions.
Arrange for grandparents to meet you at the Terminal E upper level entry/exit used by UA.
Ride Skylink to E.
(....and now, the least likely to be accepted suggestion....)
One parent stays inside security, waving farewell at a distance, holding all the luggage, purses, impedimenta, whilst Parent #2 delivers crumbsnatcher into welcoming arms of GPs, then skips back through the tender embrace of the TSA quickly, bearing nothing for them to look at but him/herself.
Depending upon reyturn plans, repeat above.
